The Murcia City Council has decided to allocate 1 million euros to help those most vulnerable families affected by the effects caused by Covid-19. The objective is to cover basic needs such as food or personal hygiene for the most disadvantaged families.
This action is part of the exceptional government plan that has been implemented in coordination with social entities since the start of the covid-19 pandemic, which has already provided support to 4,000 families in the city.

Prior to the approved funds worth 1 million, on April 17, an aid of € 500,000 was already approved for the same purpose . The City Council plans to approve more aid of this type to face the impact of the social and health crisis caused by the spread of Covid-19.
The amount that each family unit will receive will depend on the specific needs that must be covered in each case. Likewise, the beneficiaries may be exempt from complying with their tax obligations and last social security obligations.
As for single-parent families, many of the special category and families with several children will be eligible for aids for work-life balance. The global compensation amount is up to one million euros. The goal is to mitigate part of the impact of Covid-19. Some of the requirements for a family to become a beneficiary is that it must be able to recognize the condition of a special large family, not being able to obtain other aid of the same nature and purpose, be registered in the Region of Murcia and that the income level does not exceed the per capita family income calculated in IPREM.
In the Murcia Coronavirus family aids single parents, the age of unmarried children should not exceed 21 years unless they are studying for a later job, in which case it can be extended to 25. For individuals disabled or unable to work, age does not matter. For families, the maximum amount of this aid is 4,000 euros per year, in the case of concepts such as food, dining room or hiring staff to provide care at home.
The amount will be 3,000 euros if they involve textile and footwear expenses, pharmacy or participation expenses in nurseries, extracurricular or prolonged activities. And finally 2,000 euros in the case of health expenses and childcare supplements.

The new aid amount of one million euros is in addition to the other two grants announced a few weeks ago. The first plan consists of giving 2 million euros to those families where they have suffered a job reduction or have had to take leave of absence to care for their children. In the second project, 7 million euros have been invested to provide an alternative space for school classrooms on days when children do not have face-to-face classes. Both grants valued at 9 million euros come from the National Education Fund. In short, 10 million euros are allocated entirely to the Regional Conciliation Plan.
