SME aids Galicia coronavirus

The Council of the Xunta analyzed this Thursday the bases of the rescue plan for the self-employed and SMEs in Galicia , which the Department of Emprego will activate in the coming weeks to try to respond to the crisis derived from the pandemic . The objective of the initiative is to meet the most urgent needs of these businesses, which due to their less financial muscle are more exposed to any economic setback.

The plan has an initial allocation of 70 million euros (30 million for self-employed workers and the other 40 for SMEs or self-employed with staff in charge), to be distributed between this year and next.

We are going to comment on the existing measures to date in aid for SMEs in Galicia.

In the case of freelancers with dependent employees or SMEs , those who have applied a temporary employment regulation file since the declaration of the state of alarm (whether or not it is in force) and who prove a decrease in their billing until September of at least 50% compared to the same period of the previous year. An exception is also made so that SMEs that have had their activity suspended for at least six months or are particularly paralyzed, such as nightlife, are eligible for aid.

What is the amount of the aid?

For self-employed employers, micro-enterprises and SMEs , 4,000 euros. Both lines of aid are compatible with each other, so that the self-employed who meets the conditions to benefit from both may receive a maximum grant of 6,000 euros.

Is there conditionality?

Yes, in the case of employers and SMEs , the commitment is doubled, up to six months.
